Salsa is performed in pairs originated in Cuban, popular for its fluid
turns & complex footwork sets. It is a mixture of European & African
dance forms which includes Cuban Son, Cha Cha Cha & Mambo. Salsa means
Sauce it reflects spicy mixture of culture, music & styles. Salsa dance is
commonly performed in the bars, ballrooms, nightclubs, restaurants and
specially on an outdoor festival. Festivals are yearly held known as Salsa
Congress is hosted in various cities and aims to attract the salsa dancers from
different countries. This kind of events usually includes dance performance,
live salsa music, workshops etc. Salsa is also performed in home, at parties
& in backyard.
Styles of Salsa Dance:
2. Rueda de Casino: Rueda is a Spanish word which means wheel, pairs of
dancers form a circle and continue their dance. This style is performed in the
group and include swapping the partners as their move in the dance. Rueda de
Casino is also known as Salsa Rueda.
