  Salsa is performed in pairs originated in Cuban, popular for its fluid turns & complex footwork sets. It is a mixture of European & African dance forms which includes Cuban Son, Cha Cha Cha & Mambo. Salsa means Sauce it reflects spicy mixture of culture, music & styles. Salsa dance is commonly performed in the bars, ballrooms, nightclubs, restaurants and specially on an outdoor festival. Festivals are yearly held known as Salsa Congress is hosted in various cities and aims to attract the salsa dancers from different countries. This kind of events usually includes dance performance, live salsa music, workshops etc. Salsa is also performed in home, at parties & in backyard.

Styles of Salsa Dance:

1.  Cuban Style: In Cuba Casino was a popular dance which was marketed as Salsa Cubana to show the difference of salsa dance styles and was popularized in 1970s. Cuban Salsa dancers often use the movements like Guaguanco and Columbia in their dance.

2.  Rueda de Casino: Rueda is a Spanish word which means wheel, pairs of dancers form a circle and continue their dance. This style is performed in the group and include swapping the partners as their move in the dance. Rueda de Casino is also known as Salsa Rueda.

3.  Colombian: Colombian salsa dance is originated in Colombian city of Cali. Colombian dance is also known as Cali salsa dance. Colombian dance is mainly known for its rapid footwork, acrobatics & stunts.

People love salsa because it builds a social connection, it helps to maintain fitness and keeps your body healthy, it allow the dancers to express their love, passion & joy. It teaches us how to move our body and feel the music.
